This is a short montage from a recent seminar I taught in Auckland, NZ with a wonderful company called RESULTS.com (you ought to check out their website – they do cool stuff!). I hope you enjoy this clip and share it with anyone you feel would find value in the ideas I share…

  1. Once again, John, super advice. I am with Jim in Gainesville today, and will pass this along to him. John Dufek

  2. In theory, I agree with the importance of a leader having vulnerability. However, there is a a lot of fear when you are a leader at the top – especially in “today’s economy.” Vulnerability can be exploited by those wanting to climb the ladder. I think showing vulnerability works better for an owner than for someone in mid-management.

  3. John, the clear expectations stuff is definitely on point. Even good managers struggle with understanding the importance of having people clearly define what they are expected to do. Most times, in my experience, the manager thinks the employee knows the goals but in reality, there is a huge disconnect.

    Keep up the good work!
